Welcome to Form One
Form One is a very exciting year at Rydes Hill. Pupils are awarded positions within the school from Head Girl, Deputy Head Girl, Games Captain and House Captain to name but a few, and duties and responsibilities come with each role.
At the beginning of the year, the girls spend the autumn term preparing for their senior school entrance examinations that take place in January. They are given plenty of examination practice leading up to the exams and teachers ensure all pupils and parents are very well prepared for this important event.
During the spring term the girls are given a little more freedom to be creative through open-ended tasks such as: designing a yearbook; putting together European projects; holding class debates and designing and making their own clocks.
Form One are the main characters in the end-of-year summer production and they spend a majority of their time in the summer term rehearsing for the performances. They prepare themselves for Leavers’ Mass and Prize Giving where every pupil is awarded for their outstanding successes throughout their time at Rydes Hill.
It is a wonderful year where we see the girls flourish and mature. We enjoy watching them guide the younger pupils within the school and taking their roles as mentors very seriously. We support the girls both academically and in developing their social skills to ensure their final year at Rydes Hill is a very happy and productive one.
